WNBA All-Star Teresa Weatherspoon, of the New York Liberty, led a basketball clinic for GGE’s girls.
April:
GGE’s 12-and-under and 10-and-under became 2002 Police Athletic League Brooklyn Borough Champions being the only all girls teams in Brooklyn.

GGE held its first annual Awards Ceremony, featuring 16 coaches and parents playing an exhibition basketball game against each other.

GGE’s’ “Go Girl Go” groups, twelve-week health-risk workshops for 9-14 year old girls, created by the Women’s Sports Foundation, were run in P.S. 56, 305 and I.S. 323.
